If your child is ill, he/she must to stay home. A child may only return to the centre when he/she is well enough to participate in all activities, including physical outdoor play.

Yes, child care fees must be paid even when your child is ill or absent for any reason, including vacations. Fees due while your child is on vacation must be paid to the supervisor before you child leaves for the trip.

Planned activities are age-appropriate, and therefore vary from class to class. The teacher has a weekly program plan which is posted outside their classroom door to indicate to families and parents of what is planned for the children. The activities that children will have the opportunity to participate in every day are:

  • Arts and Crafts: Children use creative material to spark their imaginations.
  • Dramatic Centre: Children role play in different setting such as a flower shop, bakery, store, and fire house.
  • Circle Time: A twice daily opportunity for children and teachers to interact through singing, dancing and story telling.
  • Sensory and Science play: Children experience different materials and their properties.

We understand leaving your child will be difficult for you. You may sit with your child for a couple of minutes, however we strongly encourage parents not to stay for very long as it makes it more difficult for the child to adjust to the new setting. For all age groups, for the first 2 weeks of care, we recommend that new children arrive early (preferably before 9am) and leave by 3pm. Children who have hard time adjusting typically find a full day program to be too long.

Yes, a temporary receipt is provided when a payment is received. Official receipts are issued on the fiscal year-end.
