Midland Child Care Centre takes the security and well-being of children in our care very seriously. Safety and security measures implemented at our centre include:
  • Cameras are installed at the front entrances and in class rooms, hallways, the gym, and playground.
  • Our fenced playground features a secure gate, and the doors to our centre are equipped with automatic locks and a security alarm.
  • For emergency preparedness, we practice a fire drill monthly through the year at various times of the day, and document each drill in a log book.¬†Each member of our staff is assigned specific responsibilities in the drill, as outlined in our Fire Drill policy. The procedures ensure that children and staff are well-prepared with a known plan of escape in the event of an emergency.
  • Under section 60 (1) a, b - All persons 18 years and older (employees, students, and volunteers) providing or applying to care, supervise, support, or work in proximity to children at Midland Child Care Centre are required to complete and pass the provincial Criminal Reference Check - Vulnerable Sector Screening before beginning their employment.
